Total NPAs on housing loans amount to PSPs and housing finance companies at 1.5% and 0.6% during 2016-17 respectively.

With debt distribution and the number of beneficiaries in affordable housing segment, loans up to Rs 2 lakh ended with the highest level of housing loans (NPAs). Public sector banks have reported higher NPAs in the slab of 2 lakh housing loan over the housing finance companies in 2016-17 and 2015-16.

By 2016-17, NPAs for the 2 lakh housing loans was 11.9 percent for PS9s. Housing Finance Companies are also growing in the housing loan NPA in this slab. The NPAs have increased from 6.1% to 8.6% for the sub-2 lakh slab between 2015-16 and 2016-17. The NPAs stood at 10.4% for this slab.

Total NPAs on housing loans amount to PSPs and housing finance companies at 1.5% and 0.6% during 2016-17 respectively. The Government, including schemes to promote interest subsidy scheme under the PTA, Pradhan Schemes, Infrastructure Tag, PSA (Prada Minister Awas Yojana), resulted in a sharp increase in new housing schemes in the fair segment of the neo-liberal residential schemes and low-income groups. In the new unit 2016-17, 10.1% y-oy growth register opened in affordable housing. The only division in the residential real estate sector is the double-digit rise in the home. New experiments in the mid-range and high-level divisions have dropped by 11.7% in the year 2016-17 and a fall of 26.7%.

 

There is a threefold increase in the number of houses completed during the PMAY period between April-December 2017. PMAY projects invest Rs 1.72 lakh to construct nearly 32 lakh houses.
